My Awesome Husband

I am such a lucky girl to be married to this great man. As usual he was a great strength and support to me while we took care of my Dad. He drove me out to California with his bike on a trailer behind us. After two weeks, he then rode his bike back to Colorado. After checking on the house for a week, he flew back out to drive me home.

Scott, leaving for his first long trip on the Bike - California back to Colorado. Next year - Alaska, Here we come.

A Wonderful Dad

John Chapman Durkee - Born: March 24, 1928
A California Native - growing-up on Balboa Island known as Jack
Some day I'll write a book about The Adventures of Jackson Balboa

I have been blessed with a wonderful Dad!

My Dad passed away on June 14, 2007. It was such a sad day. I am a daddy's girl and saying good-bye has never been very easy for me but knowning it was for the last time was very hard.

My dad's life and example continues to teach me and motivate me to be a better person. Even more so now that I know he's looking down and watching over me. I love you Dad!

My Dad loved trains and was always up for an adventure or dare. Who knows if he was suppose to be up there but he would have done it anyway.

My sister's and I received so much love and support. The funeral was beautiful and the place was full of flowers. Thank you to all our friends!

The Honor Guard did a presentation at the grave site and then presented my sisters and I with the flag

Family Home Evening

Monday Night is Family Home Evening at our house and we spend it by having a short lesson followed by a fun family activity. One Monday night was spent doing paper mache faces and the next Monday night was spent painting our faces. It was a great time.

Spring in the Rockies

It finally seems like Spring is here after a very long and snowy winter. Everyone is outside and working or maybe playing in the yard. I love this time of year, when everything begins to turn green and grow. We're getting the garden ready for the big planting at the end of the month.
